Esther House Reentry is a transitional shelter for women released directly from incarceration (jail or prison) who possess a strong desire to change their life. They will overcome their life wounds, transition from incarceration and chemical dependency and be restored to a place of healing, wholeness and productivity. This is accomplished through Christian-led reentry programs developed using evidence-based practices that address criminogenic needs and gender-responsive principles.
The House is located in Fruitland Park of Lake County. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths that will accommodate up to five women receiving care, along with a House Mom (day and night). The grounds are spacious and the house has a feeling of homeyness and safety.
The Program is a 12 month Christ-centered reentry program for adult women released from incarceration. Change is required. Behaviors need to change - thinking needs to change - wounds need to be dressed and healed. The program includes one-on-one counseling along with training in coping skills / anger management / self-esteem; Addiction Recovery (AA/NA/Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ); Spiritual Growth (weekly Church attendance, Bible studies, prayer groups, Scripture reading and daily devotionals); Time Management, Budget Management; Wellness; Healthy Relationship Building (parenting and reunification with family members); Community Involvement (Giveback / Volunteering); Job Placement; Household Chores / Responsibilities and many other topics.
